Dreaming of a White Christmas…in the South!

Happy holiday season y’all!

I was born and raised in Florida and still live here so a white Christmas isn’t something we can expect, but that won’t stop us from creating a winter wonderland. I’ve put together this post to showcase some of my favorite white and silver (and a few others) holiday decor ideas! If it’s southern, shiny, glittery, glamorous, simple, or just plain makes me smile…I’m going to use it, make it, or find it! I think we can all benefit from saving money during the holidays and an easy way to do that is to make things yourself. You save the money, spend time with your precious families, and make memories. That’s what this life should be about and I’m focusing on that. I hope you enjoy these little beauties and get inspired!

I’m SO excited to announce that my Etsy shop for Ashley Shelly Creative is now officially open for business! I am starting with 5 items for sale that include baby shower invites and co-ed baby shower invites. I will soon be adding birthday party invites and more exciting and cute items that I create! I hope you all will pass this along to your friends and that they will bring some joy to the lives of those people! Yippee!

Hey y’all!

It’s been a while since I posted last, but there has been a lot going on. I’m sure everyone can relate to those times in your life when you just need to simplify and focus on what matters. My contract job is coming to an end this month and I’m currently on the search for a job I can be passionate about and share my design skills and love of beauty in life! God has a plan and I am excited to see how it all unfolds. In the meantime, I am LOVING the cooler weather in Florida and obsessed with everything FALL! Hey y’all!

I hope everyone’s week is going well and it’s already half way over! Today I want to do a post about light. Whether it’s beautiful man-made lighting in the home or natural sunshine on the porch that inspires you, there is a way to enjoy light everywhere. You just have to stop and appreciate the simple joys in life…especially when our daily lives can get so hectic. Take a little break and breathe in these gorgeous images!

Ideas from the Road: Boston & Essex

Hey y’all!

I recently took a trip to Boston, Mass. for a graphic design conference and I got some great inspiration there! Sometimes getting completely out of your everyday environment and seeing how other people live and enjoy life is the best way to refresh your life. Of course I’m a southern girl, but Boston is my favorite city outside of the South! I went to a party at the Ames Hotel and the place was gorgeous (pictured below)! And with the view out of the window, I could stay there for quite a while…



We took a little time away from the conference in Boston and went up to Essex, Mass. to check out the famous antique shops there! If you ever get the chance to stop by this place, please do. It is such a quaint little town with beautiful antique shops all within walking distance of each other. What a treat it was! I fell in love with an antique chair that fit perfectly in my mind into a nautical-inspired room. Wish I could have brought it back on the plane! haha :)



So amazing, right?! It had just rained there and the air was so fresh and lovely. I can still smell that wonderful New England air! So don’t be scared to get out of your comfort zone and take a weekend trip somewhere new. You’ll come back so inspired and full of ideas!

Shades of Gray

Good morning!

I have been in love with the color gray in interiors for over a year now and I painted all of the walls in my apartment some shade of it. I’m planning a living room color palette post very soon, so I’ll start with an inspiration post on gray! The color just makes me feel so calm and helps my brain clear out any clutter. I think it’s the perfect wall color because it gives you the freedom to change items in the room often without needing to repaint walls (which is not very fun!). Hope you all enjoy…

Sunday Snapshots

Hey y’all :)

This was a busy and awesome week! I went to the Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean concert, and then had my two best friends in town for the weekend! We had such a great time just relaxing, making the Sharpie coffee mugs, and eating tons of food and desserts!! Jes is pregnant (with my future godson!), so we’re taking full advantage in the food department, haha. Here are some of my favorite shots from the week…





I usually don’t shell out the cash for a concert t-shirt, but I felt absolutely sure I NEEDED a Luke Bryan concert shirt!! haha
